How do I pay before arrival?
We are amazingly trusting of our Googlable guests. For
a guest flying in from overseas or from a distance within Canada
or the United States we typically require no deposit and we will
hold accommodation empty for a few days without charge. In
the rare event of a guest changing his or her mind before or
within seven days after arrival, a payment of nights actually
stayed plus seven nights is appreciated but not
legally enforced. Within two days of arrival guest(s) typically
pay 'first and last week' by cash or personal cheque or
traveler's cheque. Subsequent payment is weekly with no payment
needed for the last week.
What about my guests?
Both accommodations are suitable for a single or for a
couple. If one person is renting, then a guest is automatically
OK.
Where can I eat?
Both accommodations have cooking facilities, though not full
in the case of the penthouse. Both accommodations have
the right to use of the main house kitchen, which is
well-equipped. Many guests (and the operators Lucia and
Keith!) choose to eat mainly in the maybe 20 mostly student-type
restaurants, fast food places and cafes within 200 metres.
What about departure?
email notice is fine, then the above 'using up the
last week's payment' above applies.
Receipts?
We always give instant receipts for cash. And we willingly
prepare accurate receipts for cheques, e.g. for reimbursement,
on request.
Parking?
A car is more of a handicap than an advantage downtown; we
have a garage but no car and parking can be arranged - please
mention if you need it.
